Who these terms are with
These terms are between you and Dev Jhawar, a sole proprietorship in India, who runs Tableaf (“we”, “us”). By using the website or the converter, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
You must be at least 18 to use Tableaf. If you use it for a business or on behalf of clients, you confirm you can accept these terms for that business.
What the service is
Tableaf is document conversion software for accounting. It converts PDF bank and credit card statements into Excel, CSV, QBO, OFX, QFX, Xero CSV and Tally XML files, and it has free tools for turning CSV and Excel files into QBO, OFX and QFX. It checks each statement against its own printed opening and closing balances.
It is not a financial service. We don’t hold or move money, we don’t access bank accounts, and we don’t give accounting, tax or financial advice. We don’t create or edit statements, and the service must not be used to do so.
Text PDFs are read in your browser, and the file and its transactions never reach our servers. Reading scanned PDFs (OCR) is planned and not available yet. If it launches, it will run on a server, only after you agree for each file. The privacy policy and the security page explain this in full.
Accounts
You don’t need an account for the free plan. You need one for paid plans. You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email, so there is no password. Keep access to your email secure, because anyone who can open that link can sign in as you.
Give us a real email address that you control, and keep your account to yourself. On the Firm plan, up to 5 people share one plan, each signing in with their own email. The person who buys the plan is responsible for who they add. You can delete your account from the account page or by emailing us.
Plans and how pages are counted
The current plans and prices are on the pricing page. In short:
- Free: 5 pages a day, no account.
- Pack: $15 once for 200 pages, valid for 1 year.
- Starter: $19 a month.
- Pro: $49 a month.
- Firm: $99 a month, with 5 seats.
Annual billing is ten times the monthly price. Regional prices are lower, and your billing country sets the final price at checkout. We can change prices and plans going forward. A change doesn’t affect what you have already paid for.
How pages are counted
The pages of a statement count once, when you first download it. Opening, reading and reviewing a statement doesn’t count. Downloading the same statement again in another format doesn’t count again. The free CSV and Excel tools don’t count at all. Page allowances for a billing period, and the free daily allowance, are limits on use, not a promise that every file will convert.
The free daily count and the record of which statements you have downloaded are kept in your browser. Please don’t work around the limits, for example by clearing that data to reset your allowance.
Payment and cancellation
Paid plans and packs are sold by our merchant of record, Dodo Payments. It is the seller, takes your payment, issues invoices, and handles VAT and sales tax. Its terms apply to your purchase as well as these. We never see your card number.
Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page, and your plan keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for. After that, you are back on the free plan. We don’t refund renewals, but you can always cancel before the next one.
Refunds are covered in the refund policy. In short: a full refund within 14 days of your first payment, and for a pack, within 14 days if fewer than 20 pages have been used.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Tableaf lawfully and not to:
- Process statements you aren’t authorised to handle. If they belong to a client or employer, you need their permission.
- Create, alter or forge a bank or card statement, or use our output to mislead anyone about a financial record.
- Use the output to make automated decisions about a person’s creditworthiness, or for any unlawful purpose, including fraud and money laundering.
- Share, resell or sell access to your account, or go beyond the seats your plan includes.
- Try to get around page limits, probe or attack the service, overload it, or scrape it in bulk.
- Reverse engineer the service, except where the law or an open-source licence lets you.
Your files and your responsibility
Your statements are yours. We don’t claim any rights in them or in the files you create. Because text PDFs are read in your browser, we don’t receive them. You are responsible for the files you convert, for having the right to convert them, and for keeping the converted files safe on your own devices.
Review before you import
The converter checks each statement against its printed opening and closing balances and flags rows that don’t add up. That check helps, but it is not a guarantee that every row, date, amount or description is right. Statements vary, and a PDF can be read wrongly. You must review the output before you import it into any accounting software, return, filing or report. You are responsible for what you do with it.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose, and no guarantee that its output is accurate or complete or will import into any particular software. We don’t give accounting, tax or financial advice, and nothing on the site is that.
If you are a consumer, you may have rights under your local law that can’t be excluded. These terms don’t take them away.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, lost business or loss caused by errors in converted files. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim. For the free plan, that is zero.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Suspension and ending
You can stop using Tableaf at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the service or others at risk, or is used unlawfully. Where we can, we will tell you why first. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as liability and governing law, continue after the account ends.
Trademarks
QuickBooks and Intuit are registered trademarks of Intuit Inc. Xero is a trademark of Xero Limited. Quicken is a trademark of Quicken Inc. Tally is a trademark of Tally Solutions Private Limited. Bank names mentioned on this site belong to their owners. We use these names only to say which software or statements the converter works with.
Tableaf is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them or by any bank.
Open-source software
The service includes open-source software under its own licences. They are listed on the open source page. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.
Changes
We may update these terms, and we will change the date at the top when we do. If a change is significant, we will give notice on the site and, for account holders, by email, before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you don’t accept them, you can cancel and stop using the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes, except that if you are a consumer, you keep any right you have under mandatory law to bring a claim in your home country. Please write to us first so we can try to sort it out.
