Short answer

Can I download Capital One transactions as CSV? Yes for recent transactions, PDF for the statements themselves.

Capital One lets you download recent transactions for accounts and cards, usually with CSV among the file choices. The monthly statements are PDFs, and for older periods they are the only copy, so those are the ones to convert.

Typical Capital One credit card layout, redrawn by us: payments and purchases in separate sections, each with two dates.
Two dates per row
Credit card rows usually carry a transaction date and a post date. The converter uses one date per row.
Sections by type
Payments and credits are listed apart from purchases, and purchases can be grouped by cardholder when an account has more than one card.
Charges are positive
Card amounts are printed as positive for charges and credits in their own section. The converter maps charges and payments to the right sign for your software.

FAQ

Capital One statements, answered

Does it work for Capital One credit card statements?
Yes, card statements are the most common Capital One PDF. They are read as credit card statements, and the previous and new balance are used for the check.
Can I download Capital One transactions to Excel directly?
You can download recent transactions, often as CSV, from the website. For statements further back, use the PDFs.
Is this affiliated with Capital One, N.A.?
No. Tableaf is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Capital One, N.A.. The name is used only to say which statements this page is about. Capital One and its marks belong to their owners.
Is my Capital One statement uploaded anywhere?
No. A text PDF is read by code running in your browser and the file you download is built there too. Nothing reaches our servers, and it keeps working offline after your first visit. How we handle your data.
How do I know every Capital One transaction was read?
Every statement is checked against its printed opening and closing balances. If they don’t add up, the review screen shows “Off by” with the amount and points at the page or the row where the running balance breaks. Any text PDF should work, and that check is how you know it did.
Does it read a scanned or paper Capital One statement?
Not yet. A scan has no text to read, so it needs OCR on a server, which is planned for paid plans. Statements you download from online banking are text PDFs and work today.
