Short answer

Can I download US Bank transactions as CSV? Yes for recent transactions, PDF only for older statements.

US Bank lets you download recent transactions from online banking in several file types. Statement history is limited and statements are PDFs, so older months are the ones to convert.

The layout

What a US Bank statement looks like

US statements print dates as month and day, often with no year, and many list money in and money out in separate sections. The sketch is ours, drawn from public information, and your own statement may differ.

Typical US Bank checking layout, redrawn by us: transactions grouped by type with a reference number, then a balance summary by date.
Grouped by type
Transactions are typically grouped into sections such as deposits, card withdrawals, other withdrawals and checks. The converter merges them into date order.
Reference number column
Each row can carry a reference number. It is read as part of the row and isn’t treated as an amount.
Trailing minus on withdrawals
Withdrawals are often printed with the minus sign after the number, like 12.40-. That is read as a negative amount.
Balance by date
The balance is shown in a separate summary by date, not on every row.

FAQ

US Bank statements, answered

How does it handle the trailing minus sign?
A number such as 19.20- is read as -19.20. Minus signs before, after, and brackets around a number are all understood.
Does it read US Bank business statements?
Business statements are text PDFs and are read the same way. If a layout is unusual, the balance check will show it, and you can fix rows on the review screen.
Is this affiliated with U.S. Bank National Association?
No. Tableaf is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by U.S. Bank National Association. The name is used only to say which statements this page is about. US Bank and its marks belong to their owners.
Is my US Bank statement uploaded anywhere?
No. A text PDF is read by code running in your browser and the file you download is built there too. Nothing reaches our servers, and it keeps working offline after your first visit. How we handle your data.
How do I know every US Bank transaction was read?
Every statement is checked against its printed opening and closing balances. If they don’t add up, the review screen shows “Off by” with the amount and points at the page or the row where the running balance breaks. Any text PDF should work, and that check is how you know it did.
Does it read a scanned or paper US Bank statement?
Not yet. A scan has no text to read, so it needs OCR on a server, which is planned for paid plans. Statements you download from online banking are text PDFs and work today.
